This unique and quaint Historic Village , listed on the National Register of Historic Places, nestled in the heart of the Hudson Highlands mountain range and located on the east bank of the Hudson River, features breathtaking views from the newly rebuilt 100 x 100 foot dock. The village is situated in the westernmost side of Putnam County, and is within the greater township of Philipstown. In 1996 the village celebrated the 150th Anniversary of its incorporation (1846) as well as the 100th Anniversary of its Fire Department!

The incorporated village of Cold Spring-on-Hudson, with a full-time population of about 2,800, is less than 1 square mile and is the gateway to points of interest in Philipstown (see that page for details) and neighboring areas: Manitoga Preserve; Little Stony Point Beach and Anchorage; Fahnestock State Park and Recreation Area; Breakneck Mountain; Bannerman's Island; West Point Military Academy; Bear Mountain Bridge; historical, charming and original rural roads of Philipstown; Constitution Marsh Nature Preserve; and, the Garrison Art Center.

Conveniently located 50 miles north of New York City, Cold Spring is a little more than 1 hour by automobile or train (click here for directions and a listing of radio stations in the area). Check this page for Metro North Train schedules and information about the stations.
