The train station platform at Cold Spring and Garrison are all handicap accessible with elevators and ramps, are in safe locations and well lighted at night with schedules posted on kiosks. They are well maintained during the winter season. Recently, ticket machines have been installed on the southbound platform.

There are two sets of tracks which help prevent delays, with the track on the river side normally being the inbound, or NYC bound trains. There are large parking lots with no fees required on weekends.

For arrivals at Cold Spring, exit the train and proceed forward, or north, 300 feet to Main Street and the heart of the Village. There is a subway, or underground pass to the south or NYC side that leads to the waterfront, dock, and bandstand. Don't forget to go to the dock for the spectacular views of the river, West Point Military Academy, Storm King Mountain, Little Stony Point State Park, and the view from the Northgate Restaurant area.

For arrivals at Garrison, the station is about 250' south of the main part of Garrison, and affords excellent views of West Point and the middle of the Hudson Highlands. Guinans Country Store, at the north end of the station platform (845) 424-3440, serves coffee and sandwiches and is an excellent place to wait if you are planning to meet someone for a ride.

There are pay telephones at both stations, located on the southbound, or river side track. At Cold Spring, there is an additional telephone in front of the subway entrance at Main Street, and one in front of the Depot Restaurant just north of Main Street. At Garrison Landing there is an additional phone at the very north exit of the station.
