Owners had a house inspection done 9/11/2005 by Mountain Laurel Home Inspections apx 13 months ago. A copy of the report furnished upon request, as it is 24 pages in length. Inspector was told to be very through as there was a good possibility that a potential buyer might want their own inspection done, and we did not want any surprises. It is a very detailed report with many pictures.

There were no structural problems found, nor any mechanical problems. Most of the problems have been corrected, none of which were major or problematic.

Be sure to see the Special features page above for details regarding the heating system, pipes, wiring, and overall construction.

The basement is very dry, only water that ever enters basement is if a basement window is left open in a driving rain, or forgetting to close basement loading area in shop.

Only one room on the 1st floor has wallboard or plasterboard in it. Virtaully all the remaining walls are lath and plaster. Plaster with the high concentration of lime in it will not support mold, even if constantly wet or moist.

Heating pipes in the basement are asbestos covered and in supurb condition, and have been sealed in a minimum of three (3) coats of ceiling quality acrylic gloss providing an excellent encapsulating bond, as recommended by the EPA.

There is a 1,000 gallon in ground oil tank installed around 1924 when chemically pure iron was used in tanks and which do not rust, just like the cast iron Victorian era ocean piers in England - they don't rust even in salt water. However, if that should present a problem, owners have a written commitment from the local oil company to remove the 1000 gallon oil tank, replace with 375 gallon tank in basement, and all working for $3,200.
